Pivotal GemFire®-Greenplum® Connector v3.0

GemFire-Greenplum 3.0 Release Notes

What’s New in GemFire-Greenplum Connector 3.0.0

  • This version of the connector works with Pivotal Greenplum® (GPDB) version 4.3.x and Pivotal GemFire® 9.0.x releases.

  • See Using the Connector for instructions on upgrading to a new version of the connector and for acquiring the JAR file needed to use the connector.

  • This release provides major changes to the Java API and gfsh commands. It is not backward compatible. All applications that use the API will need to be revised and recompiled to build a new JAR.

  • This release expands the functionality of the export operation to specify which data is exported, potentially reducing the quantity of GPDB rows operated upon. See Exporting Data from GemFire to Greenplum for details on the export operation.

  • A new optional feature of the export operation removes all exported GemFire entries in the specified region, once the changes have been successfully committed to the GPDB table, independent of which rows are updated or inserted into the GPDB table. The option may be specified within the export configuration for applications that use the API, or with the gfsh export gpdb command’s remove-all-entries option.

  • Export operations provide more detailed information about the number of GemFire entries exported, the number of GPDB rows inserted or updated, and the number of GemFire entries removed.

Resolved Issues in GemFire-Greenplum Connector 3.0.0

  • Fixed an issue in which gfsh commands displayed an incorrect error message when the specified GemFire region was not found.
